Hey there!
I know this is probably not what you want to hear right now, but I’m going to give it to you straight:
You’re not alone in your pain.
And while some people might say that’s a terrible thing to hear, I actually think it’s the best news ever. Because when you know that other people have felt the same way as you do, even if they didn’t know how to talk about it or deal with it at first, then you can be sure that they’ve gotten through it. And just knowing that is enough for me.
So even though you may feel like no one understands what’s happening inside of you (believe me, I get it), trust that there are millions of people out there who DO understand and feel what you’re feeling. And even though they aren’t standing next to us in our suffering, we all share this one thing: We know what it feels like to be broken-hearted and unsure about how we’ll ever feel whole again.
But here’s the thing: The good news is that YOU CAN FEEL WHOLE AGAIN! And, you can choose happiness.


You’re probably wondering how to choose happiness, right?
I mean, we all know that life is sh!tty sometimes. And even when it’s not, everything can still feel like it’s falling apart. Here’s the thing: even when we’re going through a breakup or having a rough time at work or whatever else, there are always parts of life that are pretty good. We just have to look around and notice them!
My advice? Go ahead and make the choice to be happy—even if it feels like a lie at first. Because if you keep doing it anyway long enough, eventually it will start to feel real. And then THAT becomes THE TRUTH.

Here’s an idea: Take a few moments to write in your journal about the question “What steps toward happiness could I take today?” Write whatever comes to your head.
When you finish, you’ll have taken one step toward happiness just by journaling about it.
And with that, you’re already on your way!
